AMS team rider Leo Kast was racing last weekend at his home country, Germany, the Frammersbach DH race. He will take some time off from racing, so read his last race report for a while. In german in Leo's site
This weekend I drove the downhill race in Frammersbach. I also was started last year already there and no racing event I liked more than that in Frammersbach. The atmosphere was great again and the track was awesome. Very mixed, in the beginning flat, but fast with big jumps and a lot of flow. Then open meadow curves and back into the forest with technical sections. Horny!
During the training I had such a fun at the track that I already forgot why I was here.
On Saturday, I drove my seeding run without mistake a time of 1:59,823 minutes. The fastest rider in my class drove 1:47,221 minutes.
Nevertheless, then came on Sunday the moment you had to play your final race run ... clear again rises the nervousness!
So once again pass the route in my head.
But I think I speak for the other riders when I say; "The joy on this awesome track and the cheering spectators overtrumped the nervousness, today!"
For Sunday, I chose in the training few other lines of important key points at the track and drove then a clean final run with a time of 1:57,051 minutes. I was able to improve by almost 3 seconds, and was ranked 27 out of 62 starters. The fastest rider in my class drove damn fast 01:44,197.
I am very happy with my performance, because I gave my best without taking a risk - safe run!
