This year see's Jersey have a gravity series consisting of both downhill and enduro events to give an over Gravity series champion which is a new format for the island.
The first round was an enduro event out the west of the island with 5 stages over approximately 12 miles, riding time was around an hour and a half. With a good mixture of stages ranging from flat out downhills, leg busting sprints and steep rocky sections theres was something in there to test everyone. Racing got underway smoothly with the sun shining over us and I was feeling good on all the stages with my fitness levels right up there i felt confident to take the win and with some good lines i got dialled in practice i felt like it was going to be a good race.
With the first stage jitters out the way there were only four more to go and as the liaisons rolled by and the banter was high my legs were getting progressively more tired from the sprinting involved but still felling like theres some gas left in them 2, 3 and 4 flew by and it was on to 5 which was the least dh of all the stages, this involved a lot of flat corners and stopping and starting with finally a tricky finish.
Times were in and I took the overall win on the day, pleased as punch with how my Trek Remedy rode i couldn't ask for a better start to the season right before the first national in a couple weeks.
Big thanks to CIMBA for organising and also allmountainstyle.com Trek bikes Remap Clothing and The Cycle Centre
