When a ride lasts for hours, small details at the handlebar matter. Endurance bar tape is about distributing contact pressure comfortably while maintaining a secure grip as surfaces and conditions change. Here you will find AMS's two 2.5 mm tape families, not unrelated accessories.

Two approaches to long-ride comfort

Sterrato 2.5 mm is the comfort-led option for imperfect roads, long-distance gravel and demanding all-day adventures. It combines an EVA base, PU surface and shock-absorbing gel with a tacky finish.

Tessel 2.5 mm keeps a denser, more technical hand feel while adding cushioning through a gel-based backing. Choose it if your longer rides are mainly on roads and you value precise feedback as much as comfort.

How much cushioning do you need?

Both have a nominal 2.5 mm thickness and an approximately 3.0 mm installed feel, subject to wrapping tension. More cushioning can help soften road buzz, but it is not a substitute for well-adjusted bike fit, suitable tyre pressure or changing hand position throughout a ride.

Which AMS tape for endurance road rides?

Sterrato makes sense for rough tarmac and mixed routes. Tessel suits riders looking for a more direct feel on smoother or faster road kilometres. Compare finishes and colours in the products below, then choose based on your longest typical rides.
