AMS Tessel Bar Tape: Precision at the Contact Point

AMS Tessel is a performance bar tape developed for riders who want a denser, more controlled and more direct connection to the bike.

Its structured surface provides clear mechanical grip, while the EVA and PU construction balances control, vibration damping and durability. The result is a technical, precise feel that remains secure when the pace rises, the road deteriorates or the ride gets longer.

Available in two thicknesses, Tessel lets you choose how directly you want to feel the handlebar.

Choose Your Tessel Ride Feel

Tessel 1.8 mm

Direct. Dense. Race-focused.

Designed for performance road riding, fast group rides and racing. Its thinner construction reduces bulk and delivers clearer feedback through the bars.

Choose Tessel 1.8 mm if you prioritize direct control, precise handling and a firmer cockpit feel.

Tessel 2.5 mm

Controlled. Balanced. More supportive.

Designed for road, all-road and longer rides where additional damping matters, without losing the dense and technical character of Tessel.

Choose Tessel 2.5 mm if you want more comfort and support while maintaining clear control and road feedback.

Built for Road, All-Road and Fast Riding

Tessel was developed for riders who want a precise and controlled connection with the front of the bike.

The 1.8 mm version is aimed at performance road riding and racing, where direct feedback and reduced bulk matter most. The 2.5 mm version adds support and vibration damping for longer road rides, rougher surfaces and all-road use.

Both versions share the same structured grip pattern and technical character. The difference is how much cushioning and handlebar feedback you want.

Developed Through Real Racing

Tessel has been tested and used by professional riders and mechanics from Caja Rural–Seguros RGA and L39ION of Los Angeles before becoming available to riders.

That development process helped refine the balance between surface grip, wrapping behaviour, thickness, control and long-term comfort under real racing conditions.

Tessel or Sterrato?

Choose Tessel 1.8 mm for the thinnest, densest and most direct road-racing feel.

Choose Tessel 2.5 mm for a balance between support, road feedback and precise control across road and all-road riding.

Choose Sterrato 2.5 mm for maximum damping, a tackier surface and a more planted sensation on gravel, broken roads and long endurance rides.

Tessel and Sterrato are not different levels of the same product. They are different answers for riders who want different sensations at the bars.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which Tessel thickness should I choose?

Choose Tessel 1.8 mm for a thinner, firmer and more direct road-racing feel. Choose Tessel 2.5 mm if you want additional cushioning and support for longer road or all-road rides without losing Tessel’s controlled character.

Is Tessel only for road bikes?

Tessel 1.8 mm is primarily aimed at performance road riding and racing. Tessel 2.5 mm is also well suited to all-road riding and mixed surfaces where additional vibration damping is useful.

Does Tessel use adhesive?

Tessel uses a gel backing rather than permanent adhesive. This helps position the tape during installation, allows adjustment while wrapping and makes removal cleaner.

How should I clean Tessel Bar Tape?

Clean it using mild soap, water and a soft cloth. Avoid strong solvents or aggressive degreasers that could damage the PU surface or the EVA structure underneath.
