AMS Tessel Bar Tape 2.5 mm – White
One route can include smooth tarmac, broken backroads and short gravel sectors. All-road bar tape needs to feel secure across those transitions without forcing you to choose between a road-only or gravel-only setup. This collection focuses on AMS's versatile 2.5 mm options.
Two tapes for mixed-surface riding
Tessel 2.5 mm is our pick when the route is mostly road with occasional gravel. Its tessellated texture provides a controlled, precise feel and the gel-based backing helps damp vibration.
Sterrato 2.5 mm leans toward comfort on rougher roads and more frequent unpaved sections. Its tacky surface and shock-absorbing gel suit riders who place cushioning and secure hand contact first.
What makes a good all-road setup?
Both tapes have a nominal thickness of 2.5 mm and feel approximately 3.0 mm when installed. The key difference is their surface feel and intended balance of precision and comfort. Bar width, wrap tension, tyre choice and pressure also change how the ride reaches your hands.
Which one should I buy?
Choose Tessel for road-biased routes and a firmer connection. Choose Sterrato if your mixed rides regularly include rough gravel or long sections of broken tarmac. Both models and their available colours appear below; we intentionally exclude race-focused Tessel 1.8 mm from this all-road selection.
