Why are grips and bar tape so important?
Your hands are your only direct contact point with the bar. The right grip or bar tape improves comfort, reduces fatigue, and increases control on technical terrain. A poor choice can cause numb hands or loss of confidence; the right one transforms your ride.
What are the main AMS grip models and differences?
The AMS collection covers every rider, every discipline, every hand:
RISE — Precision + Grip (new flagship model): adjustable thickness by rotation, micro-diamond texture, ribbed pads for control and comfort.
CERO — Control + High Grip: dual-compound, diamond + waffle pattern, ideal for DH/aggressive riding.
BERM — Flow + Comfort: tapered profile, all-day comfort for Trail and Enduro.
BARCODE — Classic + Super Comfortable (new): ribbed profile, plush feel, perfect for gloveless riders.
EXTRALIGHT — Minimal + Ultralight: foam, ultralight, XC/marathon racing focus.
Which grip should I choose?
Match grip choice to riding style, glove use, and hand feel:
XC / Marathon → EXTRALIGDHT
Trail → BERM (alt: BARCODE)
Enduro / DH → RISE (alt: CERO)
Dirt Jump / Freeride → BARCODE (alt: BERM)
Which grip is best for small vs. large hands?
Small hands → CERO, EXTRALIGHT, BERM
Medium → any model
Large → RISE, BARCODE, BERM
Are AMS grips compatible with most MTB bars?
Yes, all grips fit standard 22mm MTB bar diameters, lengths from 130–135mm.
What about hand placement (inside vs. outside)?
Choose RISE or CERO if you load weight closer to the stem; BERM or BARCODE if you load more on the outer edge of the bar.
Do you offer replacement collars or small parts?
Yes, replacement collar sets are available.
Grips. Installation & Care
How do AMS grips lock to the handlebar?
All rubber grips use a single inside lock collar tightened with a hex screw. EXTRALIGHT uses no lock — it’s slip-on foam.
How should I install to avoid slipping?
Degrease the bar, slide grip fully home, tighten clamp (not overtight, check the recommended torque). Re-check after first ride.
Can I reposition grips after installing?
Yes , loosen clamp, rotate to preferred angle, retighten.
How do I clean grips?
Wash with mild soap and water, avoid solvents that damage rubber or foam.
Which grip is best for enduro, downhill, and e-MTB?
RISE is the flagship for precision and control, often preferred in Enduro/DH. BERM also suits long Enduro days. For e-MTBs, BERM’s outer palm support works well.
What if I want the grippiest possible feel?
CERO provides the most aggressive traction, especially with gloves.
Which grip is best without gloves?
A. BARCODE, BERM, EXTRALIGHT — designed for comfort and direct hand feel.
