Do Fork Guards actually make a difference?

Yes, AMS’s fork guards help prevent chips, scratches, and wear from rock strikes or cable rub.  Over time, protecting the fork leg finish helps preserve value and performance.

Are AMS Fork Guards universal across all fork brands?

They’re designed to “fit most forks in the market” without cutting.  But very unusual fork shapes or oversized crown/leg designs might need trims or adjustments.

Do they affect fork performance or suspension movement?

No, because the guards are adhesive protective honeycomb semi-rigid polymers and do not interfere with stanchions or seals, they shouldn’t impact suspension function. (This is standard practice for fork protection).

How do I install AMS Fork Guards correctly?

1- Clean the fork lower legs thoroughly (remove dirt, oil) using alcohol.

2- Peel back the backing and position the guard carefully before sticking (AMS designs allow repositioning during installation).

3- Smooth out bubbles, press firmly, especially at edges.

4- Let the adhesive cure for a short time before riding hard.

Can I combine Fork Guards with a frame protection kit?

Yes, these are complementary. The fork guard protects the fork legs; frame protection handles frame tubes. There’s no conflict; layering is fine so long as you don’t block cable routing or pivot areas.

How do I clean and maintain them for long-term use?

Use mild soap and water, soft cloths, avoid aggressive solvents or sharp tools. Replace if damaged.
